Beth Duncan, MD has been painting in the Brandywine tradition since returning to the Brandywine Valley in 2009. She began painting then, watercolor initially, and then soon primarily turned to plein air oils.
Beth has studied locally through Delaware Art Museum, Longwood, and Brandywine River Museum. She has been painting at Kuerner Farm

More recently she has studied in New Hampshire and through the Farnsworth, and begun traveling to Maine, Monehegan, and Rockport MA, where she chases the light and paints the sea and its beauty.

Beth began painting in honor of her mother, who painted and sculpted most of her life. When she was no longer able to hold a paintbrush, Beth began to paint with her. She now paints in memory of her mother.

She has parlayed this into a course that she teaches in which attendees respond to the feelings they share when viewing selected artworks.
